Hi everyone,
Tonight we've made our long-awaited change to our new board system. For those of you who's only message board experience is on Marina's original board, some things will be a little different since we've switched to a newer, more powerful system that is set up just a little different than the old board.
Please take a look at these notes to help you understand what's happening.
- Finding The New Board: If you're used to seeing MarinaVKomrades.com bounce you to the KrebsCommunications.com domain, that won't happen anymore. The new board will live here at MarinaVKomrades.com. Now that we're live at the new board, bookmark it and you can delete any bookmarks to the old one.
- Logging In: We've imported the posts and members from the original board to the new one, but the new system doesn't use a public name and a private login name. We had to choose which one to so we decided to make your public name your login name (otherwise lots of familiar names would change and we'd be very confused!).
Log in with your public name and your password. If that doesn't work, you should see a link to get your password sent to you. Use that with the email address you signed up with, and the board will reset your password and send you the new one.
If you still can't login, email the board admins at help@marinavkomrades.com and one of us will help you get logged back in.
- Notifications: By default, your notifications settings are all off, meaning that you won't be notified if someone sends you a private message. To switch this back on, go to your User Control Panel (User CP on the main menu bar) and click on Options. While you're in there, if you want to update anything else like your time zone or avatar, go for it!
- Things we haven't thought of yet: We'll use this thread to share more tips on how to do things there as we figure them out, and you can use it to ask question about the new system. We've put a lot of work into making it look and behave like the board you're used to, so we hope you like it!
