Today......been sleeping alot lately

Today I bought some yummy 15 grain bread to make our Thanksgiving day stuffing with! ( we almost forgot it!)..... Forget that dried up old bread stuff or stove top brand (ick!)...get yourself a loaf of whole grain bread, onion, celery, fresh herbs, etc, and some light poultry broth and you will have some great homemade stuffing!

Of course I did other things today...but work and housework can be quite mundane and boring so I thought I would not share that part of my day! hehe...just looking forward to the American gorging ritual tomorrow, lol.....but most importantly spending time with family!

Wed. Nov. 26th

Slept most of the day, I work the vampire shift. When I got up, I watched a little local and world new, then had to take sister to get pick up a prescription for infected sinus, side effect from chemo. Picked it up at the local Wal-Mart, had to wait an half hour, so I engaged in a little people watching. Went back home, had something to eat and took a little nap before going to work. Way too exciting.

Todd, trying having to tell people you come from the only major city in the US that doesn’t have a professional football team.

Well, day is ending, and I worked in the morning in one place close to Lisbon, then moved to another town 50 kms north, and came back to see Benfica get its ass kicked by Olympiakos!

The game is in mid-time, hope they recover somehow ...

Got home a 7:15 am, slept until 1:00. Got up and began moving more stuff to new place, have to be out of the old one by the First. Made trips to both new place and storage, then divided things for tomorrow, new place, storage, recycle, free box and trash. Then had frozen DiGirono pizza for dinner. Took a nap before coming to work, upon arriving was told we have the guest from HELL for the weekend.


As a woman I used to work with would say in her British accent, “what a sorry old sod.”

Wow Ulfdog...are you moving? I had no idea. That is so much work! More power to ya! I think you have a positive and comic attitude and outlook which obviously shows here (on the forum) and no doubt helps you through everyday life challenges!...I like that!

On a different note (about my day): I didn't do much today, honestly. Had the day off so I ended up listing some of my old junk on ebay....Then I found I was less motivated after I had a turkey leftover lunch.;). I believe the tryptophan tried to induce a nap but I resisted!:). Picked up some pictures and a vhs to dvd from the camera shop. Also I spent the day cleaning up some fall decorations and getting ready for the winter.

Ulfdog, I hope your daughter is not on the u$c volleyball team, because I just got back from the game and UCLA swept them 3-0! UCLA scored the last 7 points to win the 3rd 26-24. So exciting!

Tiffster, I got sick once after eating turkey, so I've never been able to eat it again. Just looking at a turkey makes me sick. I had a bad time in February IN Turkey too. ;o)

The 28th I had a very stressing day - loads of things happening kind of simultaneously - but managed to get rid of most of the problems.

And in the end, went to my small country house and spent some time by the fire, feeding it some logs now and then ...

Sat Nov 29th. I volunteered at Petsmart helping Homeward Bound, which helps stray cats find homes:)) Played with them, gave them their medicine, brushed them, etc.. Then, got a haircut and did laundry. Now I'm here:) Plan on listening to a Marina CD tonight!!

Dec. 3rd, Wednesday

Finished moving on Sunday, spent Monday recuperating from the last minute push to finish and back to work on Monday night. Tuesday move the last thing, I had to have my Jeep flatbeded to new place. Hope the neighbors don’t complain about it taking up a parking space. Now the fun begins, getting everything out of the boxes and into their new homes.

Today I am having some good friends over for eggnog and holiday cheer!

I hope everyone isn't too worn out from Holiday travels! I also hope you all got what you wanted for Christmas:)...I visited family on Wed. and spent some time handing out Marina flyers (the postcard size one's) and raving about her music....even hid one in someone's stocking, hehe! I hope to have another concert this spring if Marina has an opening in her schedule. Anyway, I sounded like that bad John Shearer infomercial...you know the one where he is trying to sell Ebay tutorials and such (which ebay has for free)....I held the postcard up and said..."please, come to my concert"....Well, it was pretty funny. And, for anyone that has seen that commercial, you know what I am talking about!:)

I'm really happy...while volunteering at Petsmart, I did my first 2 adoptions!!I found 2 cats, what I felt,were really good homes:) It was an interesting experience, because I also had to deny someone; I just didn't feel comfortable letting these people take this cat.It's a tough thing to do, maybe they were good people; and I feel like I was passing judgment on them, which I don't like to do, but...my first responsibility is to trust my gut and think of the cat's safety and well being first. I made a couple of mistakes on the paperwork, but overall I did pretty well:))) So that was really cool!!

i've been at my sister's, and the kids showed me their xmas presents. so much cool stuff!
fell asleep on the sofa when i came home, was very tired. dremt a wierd dream, as u often do when u sleep in the afternoon/evening like that :p fun but wierd.
sleeping way late in the afternoon tomorrow, that's for sure :)

From 9am to 2pm I'll be at job A. Then I'll come home and work on Marina's facebook and myspace pages,practice my bass for at least a few minutes, then I'll go to job B from 5pm to 10pm. Then I'll come home, watch my That 70's Show dvd, have some hot cocoa and read a few pages from my book "Putin's Russia" Wow, real exciting,huh?!

Today I'll be volunteering at Petsmart again, I'm doing laundry right now(woo-hoo!), just finished working on phase 1 of my Marina myspace assignment,later I'll do phase 2, then I'm watching football, and tonight I'll watch a DVD, Star Wars, with a nice bowl of popcorn,yeaaaaah! Today, I'll be watching football. Just did the dishes and later, I'll probably vacuum and try to scrub the tub. Did my laundry Friday night, so don't have to worry about that at least. Bought some new cards this weekend!! I bought a Kobe Bryant rookie card, a Chris Bosh rookie, a Calvin Johnson rookie, a Matt Ryan rookie,and an Adrian Peterson chrome card among others!! Other than that, I'll be online just promoting Marina's music at myspace and facebook:)) And getting lyrics ready for the contest tomorrow!!

I made 52 stuffed cabbages today to freeze and to give away. We like to bulk cook sometimes on winter weekends. Fills the freezer and passes the time! They turned out really good:) A pic below to make your mouth water! (although they still need to be sauced and cooked)!

he's a musician himself, and has been playing marina's "hope" on open mic nights, telling ppl to go to marina's webpage. cool huh?

i'm sleeping a minimum of 12 hours at a time, and am up for max 12 hours,
so 24 hours a day just doesn't add up :p (the MS crap i've got is ruling my world lol)

i don't think i'll b doing much tonight, just sitting here staring at the comp.-screen and the tv,
and watching my bf raid in lotro (lord of the rings online)

i'm always hoping to hear from the Street Teamers,
who all have recieved mails to b in touch asap.
it's great to get emails from them, so we know who still wants to b on, and who doesn't!

we've lost 3,

and 10 is staying on, so it's not too bad so far.

Logan, there is nothing like traveling when you're sick. I remember being in Phoenix with a fever and it being well over a hundred degrees for a nieces wedding. It was an outside service and she wanted me to take pictures and all I wanted to do was sleep. :(

I have been wanting to go to Edinburgh, especially for Beltane and Samhuinn. I hope you’ll post some of your shots.

Right now I'm listening to rare and unreleased tracks from Marina (I made a CD) "Be Your Soldier", "Icarus", "Cry For the Last Time", "Bahbushka (Live @ Hotel Cafe)", "200 Cats" (with Alex Kharlamov),and "You Make Me Beautiful".
I went to the sports card store earlier today, and on the way home, I stopped in at K-Mart and found a copy of "My Cousin Vinny" on DVD for $5! So I'll be watching that tonight! I love that movie...anybody else? Also looooove Marisa Tomei!!;)
Later, there's a movie called "Northern Lights" premiering on Lifetime starring LeAnn Rimes that I'm going to try and watch. Gotta try and support one of my other favorite singers!

I would've preferred Michigan, but I'll take what I can get. I'm just happy the Wolverines actually made the NCAA tournament this year for the first time since 1998. The Spartans will have a little home court edge too, since the Final Four is in Detroit this year!!

I promised myself to pull-off some random act of kindness every day and today I scored quite a few times in small ways: letting drivers & pedestrians cross in parking lots, holding doors for people, "blessing" strangers who sneeze; no big ones but maybe I brought a smile to someone’s face.

Getting out into the world is pretty new, just the last few weeks, but I managed to get to jobs, drugstore, bank, office, & home without paralysis gaining the upper hand.

Felt the warmth of the sun on my face – today was a really beautiful bit of life here in paradise.

I just won some bitchin cards on ebay!! I got an Adrian Peterson rookie and a couple of vintage old school cards!! I won a 1981 Joe Montana rookie card and a 1968 and a 1969 Steve Carlton!! Sunday April 5: sorry for going back a few days, went to see Waltz with Bashir. A very interesting film although it was in Hebrew with English subtitles. I understand that it was the first animated film to be nominated for Best Foreign Film. I’ll just say it give a good look into what anyone who has been in combat has to deal with when they come home or for the rest of the lives.

After the movie I stopped at the market and then on the way home I was pulled over for expired registration tags. I told the officer it was my sister van and he then asked for my driver license and proof of insurance. So I told him I might as well tell him that my driver license was also expired; fortunately I did have proof of insurance. I told him I just hadn’t had time to renew my license. He went back to his cruiser and when he came back he said since I was honest with him he was just going to give me a verbal warning on the expired registration and a written warning on the expired driver license. He said all I had to do was take care of the license and I didn’t have to do anything else like going to court, one of the benefits of living in a small town. So tomorrow or is it today, it’s off to the MVD to get that new driver license and being legal again.

I was just at the Anaheim Angels web-site watching video about the tragic death of their pitcher Nick Adenhart who was killed in a car wreck after he pitched a brilliant game last night against Oakland.Very sad. Just goes to show how short life can be, and that we need to treasure each moment.He was just 22.

Beautiful day today in Vegas (sorry Ulf!) I volunteered at Petsmart for about an hour, went to the card store and bought a few football cards, then I went to Zia records to drop off some Marina sample CD's to promote her upcoming shows here in Vegas, and I just finished burning some more to take out tomorrow!I've also been listening to my new Karl Sanders CD! Love it!! My beloved Red Wings won, and are up 2-0 against Columbus in round #1, but the crusty Pistons got squashed by Cleveland, in Game 1 of their series. Gotta head over to the Tigers site to see how they're doing against Seattle. That's all for now. Love,peace, and respect to all:)

Not a bad day today, it actually got up into the mid fifties. Caught up on some much needed sleep, went to Wal-Mart and watched Star Wars (IV). Hopefully things will begin to dry out so I can get out and start getting things ready for planting.

The temperature is an amazing 90+ degrees today and it's beautiful & sunny. It's a bit too hot way too soon though especially considering we still had the heater on last week:). On the good side, we were able to get some gardening done and lots of vegetables planted! Can't wait to have fresh veggies from the garden this summer!! And, the cat's allergies are doing much better;).

Tues. May 5th:
I don't know what it is about our patio, why all the cats and kittens in the neighborhood show up on our doorstep, but now we have another little kitten to look after! Maybe 6 weeks old. We're concerned because it's eyes look pretty messed up and we don't have the funds to take her to the vet:( Plus, we think the momma kitty we took in several months ago is pregnant again. She escaped one night.Will it ever end? But we love them so, and just can't turn our backs on them:)

Also, I'm furious right now, as my beloved Detroit Red Wings totally got screwed by the refs in tonight's game.They scored the tying goal in the final seconds but the ref waved it off, saying he lost sight of the puck, so he blew the whistle before the puck went in. AAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!! Somehow, I get the feeling if it was the other way around, the call would have been different.The goal would've counted if it was Anaheim doing the scoring:( Oh well, "That's The Way It Goes"!!

I have a date tonight...with my husband! Dinner and a show at the ST94 (where I first met Marina last year). It will be nice to not have to cook or clean up tonight:). The artist is a local Philadelphia area singer. We rarely go out, just the two of us....it's usually a bigger group. And we only eat out maybe 3 times a year....so, it will be good relaxing fun. Yay!!!

Just watched my Marina dvd's !! Awesome stuff, I highly recommend these dvd's to everybody!! Just email Marina for the link! I feel like I just went on a trip around the world with her:) Jamaica, Australia, Russia, the east coast(Ga, Pa, NY, DC,VA,and Boston) I am a little surprised, though, that she didn't include any footage from France and England. But it was just an incredible journey, thanks so much for sharing this Marina:) I hope some of the other Komrades order these dvd's!

Also, my beloved Red Wings will be battling the Anaheim Ducks in Game 5 in a few hours. I have one of my many Red Wings shirts on, and I'm ready to go. Let's kick some Duck butt!!

Had to take our kitty to the vet today. He'll be alright, he was having trouble opening his right eye:( I thought it might be infected, but the Dr. thinks it may be something else. Plus, Tiger may have a thyroid issue, we have to wait for the test results. He's lost 3lbs over the past few weeks. So we're keeping our fingers crossed. We have to put these drops in his eyes too, for the next 4-5 days.Hopefully, it won't be anything too serious.

Monday May 25th:
Thanks Tiffany. He's a little better:) His eye seems a little better since we started putting drops in his eyes. Still not 100% though. Thyroid test came back clean, so it's a wait and see approach now. If he keeps losing weight, the next step will be to get him tested for feline aids or leukemia. I'm praying that it doesn't come to this, as you can probably imagine. Thanks again for your concern, Tiffany:)

Off to see Marina at the Pasadena Library. Last year it was 107 for this festival, today it's 72 and partly cloudy. I'd take some of that rain too.

It seems like it has been raining here since it stopped snowing. Although it has mostly been afternoon thunder storms and only last a few hours, it’s enough to keep everything wet or muddy. There have been a few days of sunshine; just enough to let you think it will dry up enough so you can work out in the garden and then it rains again. The worst thing is that we are still a few weeks away from our monsoon season.

Yesterday (sat. June 21st) I had planned to go to an outdoor concert at one of the local radio stations, but I had been raining most of the day. I have been wanting to see this show for about a month and was bummed that it was raining. It did clear some and I went to see Thomas Mapfumo and the Blacks Unlimited, Mapfumo plays a combination of traditional music from Zimbabwe, while improvised with modern music. It been said that Thomas Mapfumo is to Zimbabwe as Bob Marley is to Jamaica. It was a great show, unfortunately because it had been raining off and on all day it was held in the indoor stage instead of on the out door stage.

Next Saturday it will be Women of Four Winds, it s being billed as A lifetime first of Native American/Indigenous women coming together to perform their amazing music on one stage. It is also being filmed to be shown on PBS in November. Needless to say I’ll be there with my dancing shoes on and will be praying for clear skies and dry ear earth.

One last thing, people here complain about the rain, but always say but we can use the water. :)

June, 27th.

Went to see the Women of Four Winds concert and was pleasantly surprised. I guess I was expecting it to be more traditional music. But it turned out to be a mixture of country, blues, jazz, a little hip hop thrown in and mix with some Native American themes and influences. It was supposed to rain and the weather held off for the night, the power of positive group thinking I'm guessing. Unfortunately there were some clouds blocking the moon so you couldn’t see Taos Mountain behind the stage, it would have made a great backdrop for the filming for PBS.

Also the actors Gary Farmer from one of my favorite movie, Smoke Signals was there and he joined in on the harmonica for a couple of songs. All in all and all it was a good show, even though I didn’t get any Fritos pie or fry bread. ;)

I am a bit sad today:(. One of my kitty-cats passed away 2 weeks ago (July 14). We had her cremated and Mike just brought her home from the vet a little while ago. She is in a beautiful carved wood box on the desk right next to me (where she always loved to be!). Nikki & I had 16 wonderful years together. I know, to some people, a cat is just a cat....but to me she has been a best friend and companion since I was a teenager & she will be missed tremendously.

*On a much a happier note~ My niece rescued 9 kittens from underneath a diner 4 weeks ago. Maybe an adoption in our future? :)

Last Saturday I went to the art debut of The Heron Project on the mesa, out across the bridge on the west side of the gorge. But where else would you expect to find the art opening of Taos and Burning Man artist. The piece designed and built by Christina Sporrong named Harold, is the first of three large cranes, which were inspired by the cranes working in the shipyards in Oakland. All day I had been debating with myself if I really wanted to go, fortunately I finally decided at the last minute to go and see what was going on, then leave. So that evening about 5:00 I found myself heading out across the gorge bridge and like usual I had planed to check things out, maybe hang around for an hour and then head for home. But as I pulled onto the one lane dirt road and saw the two rows of cars lining the roadway, I knew I probably wasn’t going to get out of there as planned. Well I was glad I didn’t, because it was not only to unveil the piece, but also to raise money to help pay to get Harold to this year's Burning Man Festival. There was not only food and drinks, but there were also a number of performers from the Taos area. As it turned out, it was fascinating to watch as performers entertained with aerial acrobatic on hoops and traipse bars hanging from the extended arm of Harold. Unfortunately I had to work that night and by 9:00 I knew I had better head for home so I could to work on time. So I missed the fire twirlers and the activities that happened after the sun went down. Needless to say I was happy to get to see what I was able to and next time I’m hoping I will be able to stay for the entire show, which may be this Saturday. :)

People in Las Vegas crack me up. All summer long they complain about the 110 degree heat, then, when it's a comfortable 68 degrees like it is now, everybody bundles up like it's winter in Alaska!!(LOL). Like I said, Vegas folks crack me up.

Just purchased tickets to see my favorite underground metal band Nile!!!!!! Yeeeeeaaahhh!
I've never seen them before, so I'm really excited!! Man I hope they open with "What Can Be Safely Written". That would be such a great way to open the show, then blast off right into "As He Creates, So He Destroys"! Man that would be awesome!!! Plus, the House of Blues guy got me a super great deal on Megadeth tickets, $10!!!!!! It was part of a special promo, and I was just there at the right time! Wow, $10 to see Megadeth! Can't beat that!

Just spent 6 hours in a dentist chair getting a root canal, and temporary crown. It's been a long day. 6 hours! My mouth is actually fine, it's the wallet that took a hit :( And I was getting so restless to get out of that damn chair!!! My back was aching and I got a headache while I was there. At least they gave me an 800mg ibuprofen.

Getting snowed in today!!! (but I don't mind one bit;)). It's sooo beautiful outside. We must have about 12 inches of snow already and there is much more to come. There are 3 deer hunkered down next to a fallen tree in our back yard...must be a sure sign of things to come:). It's simply magical!!!!

I just saw "Inception". WOW!! What a film!! I highly recommend.
Oh yeah, and I listened to the new Sarah McLachlan CD "Laws of Illusion" Just wonderful! Makes me forgive her for not picking our beloved Marina for Lilith Fair!

I guess for one day I'll have to call this the "Yesterday Game" since I didn't get home till after midnight!! So, FRIDAY July 23rd: I saw Pat Benatar and REO Speedwagon in concert at the Thomas and Mack Center. Awesome show! REO headlined, and they were good(they played my 2 faves back to back,"Take It On the Run" and "Keep Pushin"), but Pat was GREAT!!! She still looks and sounds amazing at 57! Just hit after hit: "All Fired Up", "Invincible", "Love Is A Battlefield", "Hit Me With Your Best Shot", "Shadows Of the Night", "Hell Is For Children", "Promises In the Dark", a cool acoustic version of 'You Better Run", and for the first time,(I've seen Pat 3 times now) she played "We Belong"! Such a beautiful song(I actually suggested Marina cover this in the cover songs thread), and the final song of the evening "Heartbreaker"!! Awesome,awesome,awesome!! Pat kicked ass!! With all due respect to the great Tina Turner, Pat Benatar is the queen of rock n roll in my opinion:)!

Tues. Aug. 17th: Still in awe from the amazing concert Rush put on this past Sat. at MGM Grand Garden Arena! Just outstanding. Geddy, Neal, and Alex are three talented dudes. And to finally see a Neal Peart drum solo live in person, WOW!! what a treat! The man is in a class by himself.

Getting ready for hand surgery in a few hours. In case you missed it, I sliced open my right hand at work on Friday and needed 18 stitches to close the laceration. Of course, I'm right handed so now I'm learning to do things left-handed.
