I thought I'd start a topic so they all have one place to go. Here is mine:

Marina V's latest album is her best yet (and that is saying a lot). From the first note of Hope to the last note of Moonlight Lullaby, you will not find many better performed albums out there. Marina obviously puts her heart into what she writes and performs (just listen to Babushka (Grandmother) to see what I mean). I heartily recommend this album.

for now, i've made one for Modern Fairytale:

"It's a true Modern Fairytale!

Modern Fairytale is the newest album Marina V has out there atm!

If u haven't heard Marina before, u don't know what u've been missing ;)
Live At Soundmoves, Something Of My Own(2nd Printing) and Simple Magic,
wich u also find here @itunes, are all Beautiful albums!

Marina is our princess ;) an amazing artist, and she's Loved by an ever-growing Fan-base.

"Marina's story reads like the biography of a 1970s James Bond villainess. Born in Russia to a communist/nuclear physicist, she grew up studying martial arts, skiing, computers, skateboarding and, of course, playing music. She came to the States alone as a teenager to study languages, business and politics, meanwhile enjoying stints as a model, translator, and an athlete on a women’s hockey team. Perhaps this unique background has guided Marina in the evolution of her intriguing style and sound." ~ ChicagoGigs.com"

Here's my iTunes review of "Modern Fairytale":

All the reviews here have pretty much said it all. This album is magnificent! Marina ’s voice is better than ever. I especially agree with MusicallyInspired that a butterfly “seems a perfect member of this fairytale world” as there is definitely a sense of lightness (in spirit and mood, not substance) to “Modern Fairytale.” Marina’s lyrics, melodies and voice have such a way of taking the listener along on Marina’s own personal journey, as well as invoking the listener to explore his/her own journey… And just when a lyric or moment in the song brings you to a melancholy place, another moment comes along and inspires and imbues the listener with hope and positive energy, and you can’t help but smile. I HIGHLY recommend this album! And if you don’t already own Marina’s previous albums—“Something of My Own,” “Simple Magic” and “Live at SoundMoves” (which has a great mixture of all)—I encourage you to buy them and experience Marina’s evolution for yourself. To me, to know Marina ’s music starts with “Something of My Own.” P.S. If you have a chance to see her perform live, don’t miss it. Marina and her band put on a great live show (you can check out her tour dates on marinav.com)!

Marina V brings hope back to music. With "Modern Fairytale", the lovely and talented Russian born singer-songwriter-pianist has created a modern masterpiece. Her voice is as beautiful as ever, the musicianship is stellar, and the lyrics are inspiring. Standout tracks are "Hope", "The Strength I Need", and "I'll Stand Up For You", which are all about overcoming adversity in our lives; and in this world we live in, and being the best we can be. "Sunshine Guarenteed", and "Love me Back" are songs about the ups and downs of relationships. "Wilhelmina" is a cool song about a ghost in the Czech Republic, and then there's "Bahbushka" (Grandmother),probably the most beautiful song I've ever heard. It's simply mindblowing!! Finally, the delightful "Moonlight Lullaby" brings the album to a close. Marina's lyrics are smart and thoughtful, and create a vivid tapestry of images in the listener's mind. She is a truly gifted artist, and a rising star who deserves all the praise in the world for creating such a beautiful and delightful album in a time where music is truly slumping. I highly recommend this album to everybody! Marina's star will only continue to shine brighter and brighter. With "Modern Fairytale" Marina V shows us there is still hope for the music world yet. Truly enchanting from start to finish!! Reviewed by todd m.

Here is my review, as found on amazon.com;

Marina V, a Russian-born, California-based singer, pianist & songwriter, returns with her sixth album, waiting for the long-overdue moment in which her considerable talent is recognised and acknowledged by the whole world. Armed with her pitch-perfect, crystal clear, breathy voice and a dozen well-written, intelligent, dramatic soft rock/pop songs, there are absolutely no reasons why the majority of the tracks on Modern Fairytale shouldn't make the playlist of any commercial or alternative radio station.

Citing influences such as The Beatles and Tchaikovsky, and - given her delightfully quirky style and her incredible ability as a pianist - comparisons with artists such as Tori Amos are inevitable, but Marina has her own very distinct, unique sound, part pop, part classical, ably demonstrated on this, her sixth official album release. Modern Fairytale is a very enjoyable listen and touches an emotional chord many times with the wonderful I'll Stand Up For You, the beautifully fragile Love Me Back and the joyous Sunshine Guaranteed.

Other highlights include the epic, classical sensibilities of Wilhelmena and the impressive album opener, Hope. The only track which didn't work for me was The Strength I Need and that was more because of the arrangement and production of the song rather than the song itself. Other than that, this is a very solid album with more than a few genuine moments of beauty and a very worthy addition to my growing collection of Marina's underrated albums.

Recommended.

Yay!!!! I just got finished leaving reviews for all four albums on iTunes!!!!! Hey, I have always been a music lover and own over 150 cd's, but writing a review is something new for me and is not as easy as it seems;)

5 stars all around!!!!...I would have given them 10 stars, but it only goes as high as 5....Well, add those up and you get 20 stars for Marina!!!!:)

I noticed that my reviews are finally up on itunes. I don't know why my "nickname" shows up as Tahp... It should read "Tahpenes"....I must have messed that up somehow! Tahpenes was the name of my Great Great Great Grandmother on my fathers side. I have no idea what it means but it has always fascinated me because it is so similar to Tiffany in a strange way! :)

Stormy,

I don't think it's you;). I am not completely certain, but I believe Apple has not yet made iTunes store available everywhere just yet. Hopefully they will soon though! I love iTunes, it's a lot of fun if you really enjoy music. Although, I noticed that the music selection is different in different Countries. I was searching out a song one day and I have know idea how I found myself on iTuns UK....but, when I tried to buy the song I couldn't because I don't have a UK address;(. So, they definitely need to expand their store and make all music available everywhere!
