Marina V and collaborator Nick Baker have come out with another gem of a CD, SIMPLE MAGIC, which is definitely a worthy successor to Marina's previous release. The music and lyrics and Marina's singing on this CD are all top notch. Since I purchased SIMPLE MAGIC in May, it has become one of my most frequently listened to CDs. Pick up the CD--you won't be disappointed!

Your voice is absolutely sublime..and I know these are only words and pretty inadequate when trying to say how much i adore these songs and what a true GIFT this album is. There really are no words that could truly convey the beauty of this CD, of Marina V.'s and Nick B.'s lyrics and music, and of Marina's breathtaking voice. It must be experienced to be believed. I haven't been this moved by music in many years. Guardian Angel will bring tears to your eyes, grab your heart with both hands, make you feel less alone in your darkest hours, then I'll Be Alright yanks you out of whatever funk ails you and powerfully motivates and energizes you to make your life better, and to DO IT. Those are just two examples; all the songs on this CD will move you to your core and evoke every emotion within you, dark and light. Killing My Dream, Ghost Wandering This Earth, Underneath Your Sky...the entire CD is amazing.

Definitely loved her CD. Her voice, the lyrics, and the music were definitely the best I've heard for a long while. Marina is definitely talented and her voice is one of a kind, her songs are emotional and heartfelt. Songs I loved were Guardian Angel (sad song, but it truly just pulls you in when you hear it. The piano is really beautiful in this one), Underneath Your Sky (I love love songs, and this very much is one), and Ghost Wandering This Earth (I love the lyrics. It speaks to anyone who's been having a hard time. Plus the music and her voice are great in this one). So check out and buy this CD!

I own all of Marina V's CDs, and I can honestly say that this is the best one she's put out yet. The songs are fleshed out (longer than they've been in the past); the melodies and lyrics are strong; and her soulful voice is right on. Songs that stick out are: In My Head, Simple Magic, Guardian Angel, and When I Come Home.

I had the opportunity to catch Marina live at a small venue, and I had no idea who she was. After hearing a couple of songs, I went up and bought her CD, something I have never done before.

She is a wonderful songwriter and performer. Each song on this CD is worth listening to. I have my favorites of course, but she knows how to write a song that will grab.

Her best quality, in my opinion, is her originality. Many new talents today seem to want to emulate someone else ... I hear a lot of Alanis and Jewel knockoffs out there. Marina is wholly original.

What's also refreshing is that her lyrics are actually optimistic. She isn't channeling her inner rage, like many artists seem to think is vogue. Her lyrics are sentimental, down to earth and relatable. I don't sit there and think, "Damn! She is pissed!" I think, "Yeah, I get that. I've been there, too."

On yet another note, this CD is her second, and is very strong. This says to me that Marina is not a one-CD wonder, but someone who has the talent to keep on producing more good music. She deserves a listen to.

Yup, the cheesy title says it all. Marina V has an incredible talent for songwriting, and this album is proof. Refreshing melodies, touching lyrics, and a WONDERFUL voice. Relaxing, fresh, melodic and beautiful. A great album from a wonderful musician and I hope that many many more are yet to come.
