I have been meaning to thank you for posting the lyrics Simple Magick for a while now. There were a couple of words that I wasn’t exactly sure what they were. It is funny how one or two word can sometimes change the meaning of a song. It still is one of my favorites, although I’m looking forward to your next CD. Also would it be possible for you to post the lyrics for Never Again? Once again there are a couple line I’m not sure of. Lastly, I know it is really none of my business, but are these two songs written about the same person? Just a hunch. I know that most artist sometimes like to draw from their personal experiences.

hi smile.gif thank you for your sweet note..
the songs are actually about different people.. i see how you'd think they might be about the same person. just a different stage of relationship.. smile.gif
Never Again is sort of an angry & disappointed song. Simple Magic(k) is about being attracted to someone and not being able to help it..
All of the songs I write come from personal experience. always. I can't sing about something I can't relate to. When I write the music, I usually know what I want the song to be about, and then I tell Nick and we write the lyrics together..
here are the lyrics for NEVER AGAIN:
I heard you found another place
I guess you need a change of pace
You quit your smoking
You're a much better person now than when we met
I guess I'm easy to forget
Another club, another friend
Another day runs into night
And I haven't gotten better yet
I thought with you life would be better
CHORUS
You'd think I'd learn from mistakes
And one too many I've made
Never again, no
Something that I took for love
Was just a third cousin of
Never again, never again, I said, never again
I guess I'm well beyond the sad
I guess I'm well beyond the hope that I once had
Don't come near me
Cause I'm dangerous within my head
I thought with you things would be different
And with you I'd be saved
CHORUS
It's a little complicated
How things work out
Guess I should test the waters
Before I jump...

And this I knew before even reading this post. I have found that I am most attracted to the music of singer-songwriters who write from deep personal experience, and your soulful music resonates personal trauma and triumph. Your work is beautiful because it speaks about the human experience, the human mind, the human heart.
