I am so excited that "An Inconvenient Truth" is finally out! I attended the taping of it at Paramount back in September, and it was absolutely amazing. I'm going to see it twice this weekend @ Arclight in Hollywood. For more info, check out http://www.climatecrisis.net/

Hi Marina,

The movie trailer looks interesting, I don't think it is playing near me, but I will look for the book at the library. I believe that people are just a small part of the overall earth and environment. The earth will heal itself of us and our errors if we don't correct things just like our bodies heal a cut. It happened to the dinosaurs once before.

Jen and I read this thread and decided to go see it last weekend in Pasadena. WOW! I had no idea! Typical USA, they will ignore this until it becomes an "inconvenient issue" and then throw all sorts of money at it to try and fix it. Very scary. Thanks for the recommendation, everyone needs to see this movie.

Jeff & Jenny I am really glad you went to see it.. only 3 theatres in SoCal are showing it now.. but in the end of June it should be everywhere I hope.

also we got the book and in the end it talks about all the little things you can do to make a difference. we're replacing all of our regular light bulbs with the fluorescent bulbs (they say that replacing even 3 most frequently used bulbs will save 300 lbs. of carbon dioxide and $60 per year. they also say that regular light bulbs waste 90% of the energy required b/c they heat up so much). crazy stuff.

check this out, there's more info here:

We changed to fluorescent bulbs as well and added a solar electric system to the house. Not only do we not have an electric bill, but the system tracks how much CO2 we saved the planet.

are you almost done building the house? does Cali have some tax incentives for building solar-powered homes? i heard that they do, and are trying to pass even more laws like that.

House is almost done. Calif paid for 1/3 of our solar panel system. Now my electric meter runs backward as we supply power back to So.Cal Edison. The whole thing is pretty awesome.
We also joined the march!

Thanks for the info on that. We are in the process of emailing all our family and friends to join!
