hi everyone smile.gif
just came back from Joshua Tree - a beautiful national park only 2 hours East of Los Angeles.. If you want to visit Joshua tree, check out their site http://www.nps.gov/jotr/
Nick, Doug and I went overnight to hike and camp. It was amazingly beautiful. A little hot during the day (about 35C/95F) and cool at night (about 10C/55F). We got to see a sidewinder (a rattle snake!!!!!!), a lot of rabbits, chipmunks, squirrels, hundreds of lizards and a bunch of other desert wildlife. The desert was blooming and full of life, day and night. The moon was almost full and very bright - it lit the desert so well we didn't even need a flashlight.
There was only one sad thing - the air pollution in the park. The winds blow some of L.A. smog inland, often making the desert hazy and hurting the air quality. As soon as I can afford a hybrid car, I will get one! Meanwhile, I recycle everything I can and hope you do too! ;)
All in all, it was a wonderful mini-trip.
Check out a few pictures - I really wanted to share them with you!
