Marina V is on my friend list on My Space. I saw her perform on the 22nd at the Hotel Cafe. I'd never seen her before. Her performance and songs were inspirational--cathartic yet not morose. Her beautiful voice, delicate touch on the piano, and her welcoming personable nature made for an intimate experience. I loved the interactions she had with the audience. I never buy a CD after seeing someone perform just once. If I like the performance, I see them again. I buy a CD only after I'm familiar with their music. But I just had to take Marina's music home with me. I bought both her CDs after the show and I can’t stop listening to them. I’ve been telling all my friends about her and I look forward to seeing her performance again.

marina v at Hotel Café

The Hotel Café is an interment venue which offers a coziness of being able to be up close and personal to those performing on stage. Marina had forty five minutes to showcase her talents along with her full band, and show case she did. The audience was contagious with her showmanship, even demanding an encore, which is against the club’s policy. Even so, marina invited all to the rear of the venue to enjoy Russian chocolate, get sweaty hugs, have CD’s autographed and enjoy the company of this wonderful performer. Once you have enjoyed marina live in concert, the only thing worth having is attending more live concerts … something like her Russian chocolate, you cannot have just one piece.
