who's coming to the show? any requests? http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons6/69.gif I will be there with a few friends. I'm driving up from SD...can anyone recommend a good place for dinner nearby?

As for requests, well, since you asked, I would love to hear the songs everyone keeps talking about that are unreleased and not on either album. http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons6/63.gif I still haven't heard them.

Will the Lestat's show that Thursday be a full set? If not, how long do you expect to play (trying to decide about how far my friends from OC want to drive who can't make it to Monday's show).

Hey Vickii!
Look forward to seeing you!

There are a few good places to eat near the Hotel Cafe.

If you like Thai, there is a nice Thai place on the same side of the street as the Hotel Cafe - 2 blocks south of the Hotel - and about 100 feet North of Sunset Blvd.
I forgot the name but you can't miss it.

There is another cool place 5 blocks away - on Hollywood Blvd - called The Pig 'N Whistle. It's a Hollywood landmark. http://www.pignwhistle.com/

Also, there is a VERY famous Hollywood landmark called Musso & Frank's. Supposedly the oldest restaurant in Hollywood. Great food. It's about 3-4 blocks from the Hotel Cafe. 6667 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90028 Phone: (323) 467-7788
Of course, there are a zillion places to eat in Hollywood.

The LeStat's show will be 50 minutes, Marina will start at 9 pm.

Couple of questions about the Hotel Cafe show before I invite several people...

How long is Marina scheduled to play, and is it usually as insanely crowded as it was for the recent Marina/Vienna show? I was unable to attend that show, but I got a group together before I knew that, and several of my friends attended. They said it was ridiculously crowded for the size of venue and many wouldn't want to go back. :(

I'm coming regardless! ;)

Hey guys!
Vickii,
Marina is scheduled to perform 45 minutes.
Really the key to beating the crowd is getting there early. It does get a bit crowded, but there is always a great vibe in the room. Thanks for your support! smile.gif  ;) tongue.gif :D

Vickii,

Just a thought with regard to your friends not wanting to return to the Hotel Cafe because it was too crowded. Keep in mind that the CD release party was on a Saturday night...in Hollywood...and there was a band on right after Marina that drew a large crowd as well. I've never seen the place so packed. This next show (as well as most of the other Hotel Cafe shows) is on a weeknight, so it should be much better. And I agree with Nick...even if it's crowded, the vibe is great. I also have another restaurant suggestion, which is the Hollywood and Vine restaurant on...well, Hollywood and Vine. tongue.gif P.S. Nick--LOVE the penguins.

How did the show go? I couldn't make it.
Did anyone take pictures?

The show was FABULOUS. It had a very different feel than usual. Very lively, upbeat and rock 'n roll. Marina's voice rose to the occasion, getting a bit more playful and rock 'n rollish to go along with mood. The band was great--and Nick played some kicka$$ drums! I did a few pictures. They didn't turn out too great, but as soon as I can download them off my camera, I'll try and post them.

Hi Nick and Marina. I would have loved to see the full band show. I miss you guys terribly and it has been a long, long time since I saw Nick drumming. He is great! (course I am prejudiced)
I would love it if some pictures were posted from the show. Love, Mom (Marcia)

Ooh! Ooh! I forgot to mention that Marina and Nick played a FANTASTIC new song called "Walk Away"! And since a new CD was JUST released, it's gonna be a while before this one will make it CD, so you're all going to have to come out to the shows to hear it! smile.gif

Thanks Susan, just what I needed to hear. Another new song that I have to wait for a new CD to hear.
