Welcome to the newer Komrades!!!! The group is really growing. I would like to welcome our 2 newest komrades Glen (who's in one of the new pics from Borders!) and Alan. He's the guy that makes those AWESOME skateboard decks!!!!!!!! Right on Alan, seems like everyone is using ThirdChoice boards and wearing ThirdChoice apparel. I sure hope to meet some of you at the next couple shows before Christmas.

Thanks. smile.gif I was surfing a Tori Amos message board and somebody who had seen Marina in a Borders mentioned her in a post. I followed links to the site and now I'm here. :D

Welcome! If ya haven't had the opportunity to hear Marina, you may want to check out the website. I think their may be some soundbytes there. If you like Tori, your gonna love Marina!!! Glad you took the time to check out our messageboard and look forward to hearing what you think about Marina's music.

I haven't had the pleasure of hearing her live but I've heard her cd and she sounds alot like Tori. Very sweet girl...met her at a Jewel show.

Actually, Tori & Marina are very different artists. Listen to them back to back some time. I did smile.gif

I LOVE Tori and this is what attracted me to Marina's music at first - similarities between her & Tori. Her voice is similar to Tori's, more than anything. But Marina has her own story to tell, having lived a lot for being only 25.
Also, I think Marina's music is more "mainstream", I mean, it is sort of more accessible to people. I can see her having mainstream success, not in a disposable pop way by any means, but very accepted by the general public, for people of all walks of life.

I discovered Marina through an article in the Ventura Star Newspaper. I checked out the site and listened to some music, then decided to go to the Simi Valley Show that evening. Bought two CDs and had a wonderful time listening to the music. The place was packed and Nick was kind enough to let me sit at the CD Table as all seats were taken. I really enjoyed the music very much, and meeting them both. i am a flamenco guitarist from the 60's now living in California, and enjoy playing and composing music on the gutar.
