Well, after fighting the 405 and the 101, we finally made it. We only got to hear the last few songs but....as always it's great to see the band. It was especially good to see Andy again. Thumpin right along on the bass. It was nice to meet Nicole and her b/f and some other folks who we'll probably be meeting here on the board. The sound was not quite as loud as usual and I heard some talk that the band wasn't all that happy with it but from where I was sitting, it sounded great. Hope to see y'all at the show in Orange.

I didn't want BigMikee to be exluded from this discussion so I posted his review of the show here (it was under a different topic before).

Wow, What a voice. I was fortunate enough to see Marina at the Hollywood Borders.
I only recently heard of Marina from an SGA workshop for songwriters with Beth Hart as the guest speaker/performer. I was invited for being an avid fan of Beth's. While there,I heard a demo of Marina and it really moved me and my 15 year old daughter, Ashley.
Later, I looked on Marina's site and signed up for the mailing list and message board; I then checked out her tour info and discovered that she was performing at the Borders in Hollywood. To my surprise I received emails from both Nick and Marina basically greeting me. This was a big shock the artists themselves responded to me. So, I wanted more of it, and sure enough I got it. I went to the show and was greeted by both Nick and Marina. What a great couple. They are very down to earth and warm people.
Now the Music. Marina's voice was that of an Angel. Her angelic sound really moved me and made me feel good. Her short stories between songs really shed some light on who Marina is, where she's been, and where she's going. Her songs are basically branches of her life that she chooses share with all who want to listen. I love the way she keeps her herritage strong in her life, and her music. She was even writing her fans names in Russion when giving autographs Marina's is an inspiration to all those who seek the American Dream.
You go and get that world that belongs to you Marina; It's your for the taking. You have sold me; I'm hooked already. Thanks for the CDs and the autographs, and thanks for the hug. You're awesome.
Big Mike
